Following an internal talent appointment, an opportunity has opened for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our Central QLD Coal leadership team. You’ll lead a team of Superintendents across six maintenance facilities across Central QLD in Bowen, Sarina and Gladstone.
As the Regional Maintenance Manager, you’ll set the direction and lead from the front—delivering safe, reliable, and cost‑effective maintenance for locomotives and wagons. Using centrally developed systems and standards, you’ll drive operational excellence and build high-performing teams that consistently deliver for our customers.
- Champion and embed a safety‑first culture across the region.
- Lead and coach senior leaders and key stakeholders to deliver the business unit strategy and exceptional customer outcomes—safely and to a high standard, aligned to our Values.
- Partner across functions and divisions to streamline maintenance, lift performance, and achieve agreed targets.
- Execute maintenance plans and major renewal/overhaul programs in line with company systems, standards, and processes.
- Own the regional operating budget and optimise asset and resource utilisation.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen collaboration and resolve recurring issues.
- Proactively manage risk across the region, supporting strategic plans while maintaining flexibility for future opportunities.
- Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term regional strategy in collaboration with other regions and divisions.
About you:
You’re a proven people leader who balances safety, reliability, and cost with a genuine commitment to an inclusive, high-performance culture. You enjoy coaching leaders, developing capability, and creating clarity and accountability across multiple sites.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading front-line leaders in an engineering or maintenance environment.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
- High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally.
- Commercial acumen with strategic thinking and business planning capability.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate to achieve results.
- Data-driven decision-making skills—able to analyse information and recommend actions that improve business outcomes.
- Understanding of how people and culture drivers impact performance, value, and profitability.
- Demonstrated integrity—follows through on commitments and models expected behaviours.
- High level of skill in providing clear and succinct information, verbally and written.
