The Opportunity

The Research Fellow is responsible for contributing to the advancement of the University's research objectives through focused work on an Australian Research Council funded Research Hub for Carbon Utilisation and Recycling. This position supports the development of innovative, evidence-based research into Australia’s legal and regulatory frameworks surrounding carbon mitigation technologies, with the goal of shaping impactful environmental governance solutions.

The role provides support for the delivery of high-impact research by undertaking independent and collaborative research activities, contributing to project outputs, publications, and presentations. In this role, you will design research frameworks, develop qualitative survey methodologies, and engage with media and social platforms to promote the program. You will also attend relevant meetings and contribute to administrative tasks and professional activities aligned with the research area.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate expertise in qualitative research design and empirical methodologies, supported by a strong track record of refereed research publications and manuscript preparation. You will exhibit advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with well-developed planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strict adherence to confidentiality principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialised research software are essential, with experience in AI tool development considered highly advantageous.
