The Opportunity
The School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University is seeking a dynamic and innovative Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Isotope Geochemistry to join our team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and education in the field of isotope geochemistry, with a particular focus on solid-Earth geosciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Leadership: Develop and lead a significant programme of high-quality, impactful, and externally funded research in isotope geochemistry, employing analytical, experimental, and/or observational approaches to study geochemical and physical processes preserved in rocks and other relevant applications.
- Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging and comprehensive teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate units within the School and the Faculty of Science, including general earth science education at the first-year level, and specialised subjects such as igneous petrology, volcanology and geochemistry at more senior levels.
- Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, as well as postdoctoral scientists, fostering a collaborative and supportive research environment.
- Innovation and Collaboration: Bring new ideas to research and teaching, building on and extending existing strengths in the School, and developing new links across Monash University and beyond.
As the successful candidate you will have a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline of geoscience.
