The Opportunity
As the School Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the operational leadership and strategic success of the School of Media, Film and Journalism within the Faculty of Arts. Reporting to the Senior Manager, School Operations, you will act as a primary interface between the Head of School and university-wide administrative functions, leading business planning, resource management and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership across school administration, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant and well-documented
- Manage the academic appointment lifecycle, including workload monitoring, resource allocation and sessional staff management.
- Partner with the Head of School and Faculty Operations team to coordinate budgeting, workforce planning, and reporting cycles
- Lead, mentor and develop a professional staff team, building capability and a positive team culture
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative systems and contribute to faculty-wide improvement initiatives
About You
As the successful candidate, you will bring proven operational leadership and administrative management experience, preferably in a university or large, complex organisational environment, and strong financial acumen with a demonstrated track record of effectively overseeing budgets, managing resource allocation and driving financial planning.
