Join our Dynamic Team as an Aboriginal Cultural Child and Family Support Consultant

Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is searching for a Referral Unit Officer to join Child and Family Health Service team during an exciting time of growth and innovation.

In the role of Aboriginal Cultural Child and Family Support Consultant you will focus on:

  • Leadership in Collaboration: Takes a proactive lead in engaging Aboriginal families, working closely with an inter-professional team to ensure culturally sensitive support is provided to Aboriginal infants, children, and their families, fostering trust and respect within the community.
  • Empowering Families: Ensures Aboriginal families are fully informed of the diverse range of services offered by CaFHS and local community resources, offering tailored assistance to navigate and access these services to meet their unique needs.
  • Promoting a Positive Team Environment: Actively contributes to a team culture of positivity, continuous learning, and development, while prioritizing employee safety and welfare, respecting cultural and personal differences, and encouraging innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Cultural Mentorship and Consultancy: Provides expert cultural consultancy and mentorship to team members, advising on appropriate cultural protocols, communication strategies, and fostering sensitivity to the unique needs of Aboriginal families to enhance service delivery and engagement.
