Join Our Team as a Clinical Nurse - Emergency Department!

Port Lincoln Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. As a valued member of our healthcare community, you will provide proficient, person-centered clinical nursing care and individual case management to patients in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical nursing/midwifery care in accordance with best practices and individual patient needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient/client care plans to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved daily.
  • Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within the Emergency Department, maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Assess clients within established guidelines, select appropriate therapeutic interventions, and support programs to promote patient well-being.
  • Participate actively in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experiences, guiding and mentoring students, and goal setting for students, new employees, and colleagues with less experience.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary primary health care setting to enhance patient care outcomes.
About You
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Must have at least 3 years contemporary experience in an Emergency Department with a demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. 
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses also required.
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
