About the Role

Located in Adelaide's northern metropolitan region, you'll work within our specialised intensive care unit, providing expert nursing care to critically ill patients and their families. As a Clinical Nurse Educator you will make a meaningful difference in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will:

  • Provide clinical teaching, orientation and mentorship to new graduates and less experienced staff.
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager and Educators in creating a positive learning culture.
  • Assist with competency development, goal setting, and portfolio maintenance.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Design and deliver evidence-based educational content and training sessions
  • Support clinical skill development and competency assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance learning outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate educational program effectiveness

About You

You will have:

  • Relevant intensive care experience and qualifications
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in nursing.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment 

Postgraduate qualifications in Critical Care / Intensive Care Nursing will set you apart and are highly valued in this role. 

To be appointed to the role to the role you must be registered, or eligible for registration, as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Lyell McEwin Hospital The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

Mental Health - The Division of Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for youth, adults and older people in northern Adelaide. Services are provided through community health centres and hospitals, and to consumers in their own homes. 

Forensic Mental Health - A statewide service that operates as part of the Division of Mental Health for forensic patients and prisoners. 

Community Sites - Elizabeth GP Plus, Modbury GP Plus and Gilles Plains GP Plus Super Clinics providing community based care.
