About the Role:

As a Social Worker (AHP2) in our Community Mental Health Service, you’ll play a vital role in improving health outcomes for consumers and their families. This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment where your expertise truly matters.

Working within our community mental health team, you will provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and support services to adults with mental health conditions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred care that promotes recovery and wellbeing in community settings.

To ensure we can meet the needs of our community, you will be rostered for shifts across a seven day roster. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans with clients and families
  • Providing crisis intervention and risk assessment
  • Facilitating group therapy and psychoeducational programs
  • Liaising with community services and support networks

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a degree in Social Work with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

About You:

You are a dedicated Social Worker with strong skills in mental health assessment, intervention, care planning and working within interdisciplinary teams, both internal and external agencies including NGOs and other government services.

Your experience in mental health services, particularly within a community setting, will be key to your success in this role.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
