About the role

The Paediatric Physiotherapist, reporting to the Manager, Physiotherapy, provides assessment, treatment, education, and health promotion to neonates, children, adolescents, and their families. The role aims to minimise the impact of disease or disability and optimise functional capacity. This position is part of the casual staff system including participation on the Physiotherapy Weekend/Public Holiday Roster and also consists of casual weekday work that may rotate across all areas of the health service.

Key duties of the role

  • Assess, analyse and treat paediatric and neonatal patients
  • Develop, implement and review individual care plans
  • Educate families, carers and patients on condition management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement
  • Participate in professional development and quality initiatives

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Physiotherapy; eligible for AHPRA registration
  • Experience in paediatric or acute physiotherapy settings
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and multidisciplinary practice
