About the role

The Principal Project Manager, Health Planning & Design, New WCH Project (the Project) is accountable to the Project Lead for the delivery of design and development components within the detailed planning, analysis and documentation for the New WCH Project ensuring the achievement of ‘fit for purpose’ and ‘best practice’ design.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead and provide strategic advice for health facility planning to support new models of care and system-wide processes for the New Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
  • Act as a liaison between Clinical & Operations Workstream and external consultants to ensure design meets the Function Design Brief and Schedule of Accommodation, following AusHFGs.
  • Develop and implement processes to support commissioning of the New Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
  • Support policy and procedure development to integrate hospital-wide processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure success of the hospital and service reconfiguration, aligned with engagement and change management strategies.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven project management experience in health industry construction projects above $50m value is essential.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, plan, lead and review the delivery of strategies taking account of business, political, financial and strategic issues.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with the ability to produce quality written reports.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity through the recognition of barriers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Shows and promotes respect for diverse backgrounds, experience and perspectives.
  • Models' leadership and commitment to safety and wellbeing of self and others
