About the role

The Educator Simulation leads the development, delivery, and evaluation of inter-professional simulation education programs across WCHN, working with educators and clinical staff to design, facilitate, and assess simulation scenarios. The role also supports curriculum integration within the Centre for Education and delivers education frameworks focused on life support and the management of deteriorating neonates, infants, paediatrics and obstetric patients.

Key duties of the role

  • Designing, facilitating, and assessing simulation scenarios in collaboration with educators and clinical staff.
  • Supporting curriculum development that integrates simulation into inter-professional education within the Womens and Childrens Health Network.
  • Creating, delivering, and evaluating  basic to advanced life support training which includes management of deteriorating patients, specifically for neonates, infants, paediatrics and obstetrics.
  • Provide equitable simulated education sessions for obstetrics, paediatrics and neonates.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Basic Life Support Trainer.
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with demonstrated competence in the relevant area of Nursing/ Midwifery practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of a simulated learning environment.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
