About the Role

As a Consultant Radiologist with SAMI, you will deliver high-quality Medical Imaging services at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, contributing to outstanding patient care through clinical excellence, collaboration and leadership. Reporting to the Campus Clinical Head, you will provide diagnostic and interventional radiology services across a broad range of modalities including plain X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI. Working within a multi-disciplinary clinical and academic team, you will play a key role in supporting patient-centred care, teaching and research, while contributing to a culture of cooperation and diagnostic accuracy.

You will provide professional leadership to clinical staff, supervise and mentor trainees and junior medical officers, and actively participate in quality improvement and quality assurance activities to ensure safe, effective and efficient service delivery. The role includes representing SAMI at campus and multidisciplinary meetings, providing expert consultative advice to referring clinicians, coordinating appropriate follow-up care and taking responsibility for at least one clinico-radiology meeting per week. There may also be opportunities to support service delivery across other SAMI locations as required.

About You

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: You hold an MBBS (or equivalent) with appropriate specialist qualifications and are eligible for Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (or meet the SA Medical Officers Award requirements). You have completed RANZCR Clinical Radiology training (including Phase 2 requirements) and bring a strong commitment to safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

You are a collaborative and values-driven medical professional who demonstrates clinical excellence, leadership and integrity in every aspect of your work.

  • Proven expertise in Interventional Radiology and complex procedures

  • Broad modality experience (US, CT, MR) with strong communication skills

  • Collaborative leader who fosters respect and effective teamwork

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise Medical Imaging trainees
