About the Role:

A fantastic opportunity is now available with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) for enthusiastic Administration Officers to join the dedicated team at the Northern Adelaide Cancer Centre (NACC). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment and is passionate about supporting high‑quality cancer care for patients and their families.

As an Administration Officer, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive administrative support across our cancer services. Your work will include coordinating bookings using both paper‑based and electronic systems, ensuring accurate and timely Medicare billing for private outpatients, and maintaining up‑to‑date patient demographic information. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors responding to phone, email and in‑person enquiries with professionalism, empathy and clarity.

In your daily activities, you will provide smooth reception services for patients attending procedures and investigations, ensuring they feel supported and well‑informed throughout their journey. You will communicate confidently with internal staff and external service providers to maintain continuity of care, while also ensuring the efficient handling, updating and storage of medical records. Reporting of departmental statistics will form part of your routine, contributing to accurate organisational data and service planning. Through all interactions, your compassion and ability to support individuals during times of anxiety will be central to the patient experience.

About You:

To excel in this role, you will bring highly developed written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to interact confidently with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies and members of the community. You will have strong organisational abilities, allowing you to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and operate effectively under pressure with minimal supervision. Your experience in handling confidential information discreetly, combined with your initiative, positive attitude and adaptability, will ensure success in a constantly changing environment. You will have proven experience maintaining office systems and technologies, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, and preferably experience with electronic patient booking systems.
