About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is offering an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to join our General Medicine and Oncology wards as a Nurse Unit Manager. This pivotal role is central to supporting high‑quality patient care and fostering a collaborative, empowered workforce.

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will apply your extensive clinical knowledge and leadership experience to coordinate patient care delivery and lead multidisciplinary teams. Your primary focus will be to ensure continuity, safety, and excellence in patient outcomes while overseeing the operational and strategic functions of your ward.

In this position, you will hold accountability for nursing and multidisciplinary outcomes within your practice area. This includes identifying and addressing gaps between policy and practice, championing evidence‑based care, and cultivating a positive and high‑performing team culture.

Smoothly integrating clinical leadership with operational responsibilities, you will:

  • use contemporary evidence and clinical expertise to support sound decision‑making, innovative thinking, and high‑quality analysis
  • lead and coordinate patient care delivery across your unit to ensure seamless patient flow and consistently high standards of care
  • provide strong clinical leadership and mentorship, promoting continuous learning and professional development
  • work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to embed evidence‑based practice and optimise patient outcomes
  • manage staffing resources effectively, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective service delivery
  • contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with best practice
  • champion a supportive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and staff wellbeing

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
