Kick-start your career in the nursing profession as part of the Regional Enrolled Nursing Cadetship program.  Regional Local Health Networks (regional LHNs) are now looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Assistants in Nursing for their 2027 intake. Candidates must be enrolled to commence Diploma of Nursing in January 2027, or currently studying the Diploma of Nursing, with a regional based TAFE SA campus.

Regional Enrolled Nursing Cadetship Program

• Regional Local Health Networks, Various Locations
• Temporary Part-Time for up to 18 months (more than one position available)
• Salary: $61,458 - $63,278 (Pro-rata) (nursing zone allowance may be applicable) – Assistant in Nursing (AIN)

Regional Local Health Networks (regional LHNs) are now looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Assistants in Nursing, as part of their Regional Enrolled Nursing Cadetship program, to kick-start their careers in the nursing profession. Candidates must be enrolled to commence Diploma of Nursing in January 2027, or currently studying the Diploma of Nursing, at a regional based TAFE SA campus.

About the full-time program

• Up to 18 months paid employment for two days per week as an Assistant in Nursing, commencing March 2027

• Up to 21 months of full time study in Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 (approximately 25 hours study per week)

Two days paid employment and approximately 25 hours study per week equates to a full-time commitment and a solid foundation for a nursing career.

Enrolled as a student in the Diploma of Nursing with a TAFE SA regional campus, you will take part in activities that enhance your understanding of the role of a nurse and the in-and-out workings of a country hospital. Guided and supported by experienced Enrolled and Registered Nurses, you will receive close supervision as you grow and build your nursing skills and capabilities.

Multiple positions are available in each of our regional LHNs across South Australia, with locations negotiable with the successful applicants:

• Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network
• Eyre and Far North Local Health Network
• Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network
• Limestone Coast LHN Local Health Network
• Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network
• Yorke and Northern Local Health Network

To be considered for an EN Cadetship, applicants must have applied for and been offered a place in the Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) at a TAFE SA regional campus to commence studying in January 2027 or currently studying the Diploma of Nursing at a regional campus.
