Experience in specimen collection, medical terminology or data entry is preferred, but not essential as on the job training will be provided. Murray Bridge is one of the largest regional towns in SA located along the banks of the Murray River and only an hour drive from Adelaide. In your backyard you’ll have various parks and reserves along the river popular for fishing, camping, hiking, water sports and more. You’ll be connected to popular weekend destinations such as the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula or Monarto Zoo. There is also plenty of sporting and community clubs available to get involved with. Find out more at: Home - Murray Bridge Tourism. Minimal shift work required. Shifts at other Adelaide Hills and Murray Bridge SA Pathology sites will be required.

About the role

As a Pathology Collector, you will play an important part in helping deliver safe, efficient and patient-focused laboratory services across SA Pathology. With appropriate training and close support from experienced colleagues, you will develop and apply practical skills across a range of essential tasks, including transporting, sorting and labelling specimens in line with established protocols and assisting with clinical duties. Your care and attention to detail will help ensure specimens are handled accurately and efficiently throughout the laboratory process.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team, build your skills and make a meaningful contribution to the experience of patients, clinicians and colleagues. Reporting to the local Regional Laboratory Manager, you will provide friendly, professional customer service to people accessing SA Pathology services, as well as staff and key stakeholders. If you are keen to learn, enjoy working with people and take pride in doing things carefully and correctly, we would love to hear from you.

About You

You will be a caring, reliable and customer-focused person who enjoys helping others and is keen to contribute to a supportive healthcare environment. No formal qualifications are required, with training provided to help you build the practical knowledge and skills needed for the role.

  • Compassionate and service-focused, with a genuine desire to help others and provide respectful, empathetic customer service.
  • Confident with technology, with experience using information systems and databases and an ability to learn new systems.
  • A sound problem-solver, able to use judgement, identify issues and escalate concerns appropriately when required.
  • Health-aware and adaptable, with pathology, hospital or healthcare experience desirable, along with knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory procedures, quality and safety practices.
