About the role

As a Senior Calibration Engineering Technician, you’ll play a vital hands-on role in supporting SA Pathology and its customers by ensuring biomedical, electromechanical and other specialised equipment is safe, accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. Working across calibration, planned and remedial maintenance, you’ll apply your technical expertise to diagnose issues, undertake repairs and calibrations, and accurately document results in line with relevant engineering standards. You’ll also work closely with laboratory staff, external agencies and contractors, providing practical technical advice and responsive support.

Joining a small, multi-discipline team, you’ll bring strong technical capability, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, apply best-practice principles and stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments. This is a role where your expertise will make a tangible difference, supporting the technology and equipment that enable SA Pathology to deliver essential healthcare services to the South Australian community.

About You

You’re a technically skilled and solutions-focused professional who thrives on variety, takes pride in quality workmanship and can confidently manage complex technical challenges. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and extensive experience in maintaining, repairing, calibrating and acquiring complex biomedical and electromechanical equipment to strict engineering standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge, including engineering principles, techniques and relevant Australian and International Standards and Codes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prepare complex technical reports, specifications and tender evaluations, interpret customer requirements and develop logical solutions.
  • A self-motivated, adaptable and safety-focused approach, with the ability to work independently or as part of a self-managed team, deliver quality outcomes under pressure and embrace continuous technological change.
