Overview

Stroke care in regional South Australia is only as strong as the people leading it. SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is seeking an experienced Stroke Coordinator to take clinical ownership of stroke services across Port Lincoln and the broader network - driving the region toward Stroke Capable Regional General Hospital (SCRGH) status and the national 30/60/90 Stroke Targets.

What You'll Be Leading

Based within the Port Lincoln Community and Allied Health Service, this part-time, long-term contract role (ending 1 September 2028) positions you as the clinical expert and network connector for stroke management across inpatient and community settings. Your core focus will include:

• Providing specialist clinical leadership and consultancy to multidisciplinary teams, EFNLHN executives, and external stakeholders on stroke best-practice standards
• Coordinating integrated care pathways - from acute assessment through to discharge planning - and building TIA clinic capacity aligned with key performance indicators
• Leading quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, audit processes, and collaboration with the Australian Stroke Coalition and National Stroke Foundation toward regional stroke certification
• Developing and delivering education and professional development for staff, patients, families, and carers across the network

What You Bring

• Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA, holding a current practising certificate; OR a recognised Allied Health qualification with eligibility for relevant professional association membership
• Minimum three years post-registration experience with demonstrated competence in a relevant clinical area
• Proven experience working with Aboriginal consumers and communities to deliver culturally safe, appropriate health services
• Demonstrated leadership in change management, service development, and project implementation within a healthcare setting
• Endorsement and credentialling to prescribe medications or order diagnostics within scope (for nursing applicants)
• Experience in accreditation processes and supervision of less experienced clinicians
