About Us  

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) operates in the ACT and NSW, supporting 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). 

The Archdiocesan Schools Office provides a range of services to the system through four directorates including Faith in Learning, School Operations, Corporate Services and Governance and Strategy.

About the Role  

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of technology across CACGEL's 56 schools, 9 early learning centres and corporate offices. As Enterprise Architect, you will work directly with the Chief Information Officer and senior leaders to influence organisation-wide strategy, guide major technology investments and establish the architectural foundations that will support a large and diverse Catholic school system. The role is responsible for leading enterprise architecture across business, information, application and technology domains, ensuring that every significant technology decision contributes to a connected and sustainable “One System” approach.

You will be trusted to define architectural direction, establish governance, chair the Architecture Review Board and provide authoritative advice on major programs, emerging technologies and future capability. This is a role for a strategic thinker who wants to move beyond solution design and have a genuine impact on organisational outcomes, operating models and long-term investment decisions.

Working across executive leadership, schools, business areas and ICT teams, you will influence how technology is planned, governed and delivered. You will help reduce complexity, improve interoperability, strengthen cyber security and ensure that technology platforms, data, processes and people work together to achieve better outcomes for staff and students.

Success in this role requires more than architectural expertise. We are looking for a leader who can build credibility with senior stakeholders, bring clarity to complex challenges and inspire enterprise thinking across the organisation. The ICT team at CACGEL delivers technology services that supports 56 schools, 9 early learning centres and corporate offices across the ACT and NSW. We are responsible for service delivery, infrastructure, cloud platforms, cyber security, enterprise systems, data and digital transformation, ensuring technology enables staff to focus on delivering outstanding educational outcomes. As a team, we combine operational excellence with continuous innovation, working collaboratively to provide reliable, secure and scalable services that support a flourishing community of schools and help every student reach their full potential.

Qualifications and Eligibility   

  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology, information systems or a related discipline, supported by extensive professional experience and sound judgement in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Relevant enterprise architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF, SABSA) are desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and Working With Children Check (WWCC) 
    (Please note these clearances are not required at point of application however are required prior to commencement)
  • Current Drivers Licence.
