This is a Sydney‑based, on‑site role that requires regular travel to other NSW branches.

About the Role
As a Commercial Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders across the business, including sales and operational teams, supporting both strategic and operational initiatives. Acting as a trusted commercial advisor, you will ensure financial performance remains on track while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance profitability, optimise pricing, and drive cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

Build strong partnerships across NSW, delivering commercial insight and financial advice that drives effective decision‑making across operations, sales, and key business portfolios.
  • Financial Performance & Reporting
Own budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end P&L oversight, delivering clear, insightful reporting that supports both operational teams and senior leadership.
  • Commercial Analysis & Business Case Development
Analyse customer profitability, pricing and customer mix, and develop business cases to support pricing strategies, tenders, cost‑saving initiatives, and investment decisions.
  • Strategic Insight, Risk & Opportunity Management
Identify financial risks and opportunities within a complex operating environment, providing pragmatic recommendations to optimise commercial outcomes and performance.
  • Leadership Engagement & Continuous Improvement
Present regular performance insights to leadership, tailoring communication to diverse stakeholders, while driving continuous improvements in financial processes, reporting, and ways of working.

About You

You are a top‑tier commercial finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, complex organisation and knows how to deliver what stakeholders actually need.

You bring:

  • Strong Business Partnering Experience
Proven experience partnering with senior leaders in a large, complex organisation (ASX‑listed experience strongly preferred).
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management
Superior ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior leadership to sales and operations, adapting your communication style to suit your audience and staying ahead of stakeholder expectations.
  • Commercial & Operational Acumen
A deep understanding of operational environments, pricing, customer profitability, and the commercial drivers of performance.
  • Confident Communicator
Highly effective at presenting financial information, influencing outcomes, and delivering insights that resonate with different audiences.
  • Professional Qualifications
Degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, with CA or CPA qualifications.
  • Adaptability & Results Focus
Comfortable navigating complexity, prioritising competing demands, and delivering outcomes in a dynamic, high‑expectation environment.
  • Commitment to Safety & Sustainability
A genuine alignment with Cleanaway’s values, with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
