About Your Opportunity
As the Senior Supply Modeller, you will lead comprehensive modelling assessments to ensure water security across Southeast Queensland. Collaborating with internal and external technical subject matter experts, you will analyse modelling outcomes related to regulated Level of Service objectives, yield assessments, and water storage capacities to support long-term water planning. Your role will involve maintaining water supply models that are accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose, while addressing the region’s specific water security needs. You will also seek opportunities to improve and coordinate new model development with government stakeholders, implementing innovative solutions and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of water security assessments.
Key responsibilities:
- Use advanced modelling techniques and methodologies to analyse outcomes, improve model development, and implement innovative solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of water security assessments.
- Interpret and evaluate water supply modelling outcomes to provide expert advice for Seqwater’s Water Security Program, business case development, and stakeholder initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage significant water supply modelling projects within multi-functional teams, developing least-cost optimisation strategies to ensure appropriate water quality and quantity.
- Provide professional advice on government policy, legislation, and regulation, using modelling outcomes to formulate strategies and recommendations for long-term SEQ water supply planning.
- Ensure water supply models are accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose by managing a modelling assurance framework, overseeing change management, and leading internal and external audits.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Science or Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional modelling experience, including extensive data analysis and interpretation of modelling results.
- Proven expertise in stochastic modelling for large and complex systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional project teams and translate water security impacts into business case development.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and advising internal and external stakeholders.
- High-level analytical and statistical interpretation skills, with proficiency in statistical packages and water supply models.
This position will be offered as a permanent full-time opportunity with a salary range from $132,746.14 - $145,422.62 (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
