Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; frequent late night and weekends based on event schedules.
Job Summary: The Catering and Conference Dining Sales Manager promotes and sells Bama Dining/Crimson Catering services. Generates leads, takes orders, customizes services, schedules, and ensures excellent delivery of catering services. Coordinates with catering team members to create unique menus and client driven programming. Collaborates with various event spaces on campus to provide catering services. Serves as primary contact for all internal and external groups interested in dining at the University. Provides oversight and scheduling for all summer conference dining needs.
Additional Department Summary: Ensures accurate and timely billing by following up with clients after events. In collaboration with dining location managers, coordinates group meals at residential dining halls, retail dining locations, and private catered events as appropriate. Communicates group activities to all management and ensures payment cards, table reservations, and other necessary items are created. Coordinates with all dining location managers and external groups to ensure a seamless conference dining experience. Serves as an advocate and liaison for Bama Dining and the University Club to the local and campus community. Engages with stakeholders and collaborates with the University Dining Services marketing team to promote the dining options available on campus.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree and some experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong public speaking and writing skills.
