Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs routine and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.


Additional Department Summary: The Action Card system is a campus enterprise level system that processes 8+ million transactions annually, including $22 million in annual Action Card account transactions at the 100+ on- and off-campus vendor locations. The system server maintains a 60,000+ active cardholder database that utilizes a broad range of debit, identification, validation, financial, NCAA student athletic entrance, and event services critical to daily campus operations for the entire campus community. Action Card manages physical card production and the mobile card program, which has issued over 50,000 mobile credentials. Action Card supports 17 campus integrations and the Bama Dining point-of-sale system, which processes four million transactions totaling to $41.5 million. Action Card operates 24/7, 365 days per year, which requires on-call hours for nights, holidays, and weekends in order to provide assistance for critical cardholder services.

Provides mobile card provisioning and front-line customer service for in-person troubleshooting to support Action Card operations.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED or higher.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.er.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Customer service skills. Strong technical skills. Ability to learn specialized vendor applications/web-based computer programs. Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and initiative to expedite customer service resolutions. Ability to interpret complex and multi-phased processes and applications to expedite customer service resolutions. Ability to communicate and interpret technical information with both the customer base and vendor support personnel. Ability to create written technical instructions/dispute information for both the customer base and vendor support personnel, in both an individual and group environment.


Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher. Three (3) years of relevant customer service experience. Experience with setting up smartphones.
