For every child, a Childhood

Recognizing the expanding potential of digital platforms for fundraising in Chile, UNICEF is strengthening its donor acquisition strategy. The country boasts high internet penetration and a digitally engaged population, making online fundraising a key area for growth. In this context, UNICEF proposes establishing the Fundraising Associate (Digital Acquisition and Paid Media) GS-6 position to optimize revenue generation through digital channels.
This role is designed to enhance digital fundraising efforts, ensuring strategic investments in paid media and donor acquisition campaigns. The incumbent will support efforts to increase digital revenue streams by assisting in campaigns targeting pledge and cash donors, contributing toward the team's goal.

How can you make a difference? 

Digital Fundraising Strategy and Implementation: 
  • Support the development and implementation of digital fundraising campaigns focused on donor acquisition, cash contributions, email marketing, and lead generation, under the supervision of the Acquisition Officer, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's global fundraising objectives.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), establish reporting frameworks, and monitor campaign effectiveness, with a focus on paid social, programmatic advertising, and display marketing.
  • Assist in the design and execution of lead generation initiatives, including value exchange campaigns on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram), to optimize engagement and conversion rates, following guidance from supervisors.
  • Work closely with data analysts to enhance audience segmentation, targeting accuracy, and campaign performance optimization.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across teams, maximizing fundraising efficiency and return on investment (ROI).
Campaign Execution and Optimization:
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of digital fundraising campaigns, ensuring they align with the PSFR Annual Plan and global digital revenue strategies.
  • Support the management and monitoring of paid media investments across multiple digital channels, helping to ensure optimal resource allocation for both short-term donor acquisition and long-term fundraising growth, under direct supervision and guidance.
  • Ensure timely and efficient campaign rollouts, with the flexibility to support emergency fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling digital content, ensuring consistency with campaign objectives and donor engagement strategies.
  • Support high-impact campaigns during key fundraising periods (e.g., holidays, global events) to maximize revenue and donor acquisition opportunities.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of campaign performance, identifying areas for optimization to enhance donor acquisition and retention.
  • Track and assess key metrics, including cost-per-acquisition (CPA) and ROI, making data-driven recommendations for campaign refinements.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management, providing actionable insights into campaign effectiveness and strategic adjustments.
  • Engage with international teams to exchange best practices, insights, and innovative approaches to digital fundraising.
 
Budget and Administrative Management:
  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, and invoicing processes for digital campaigns, ensuring optimal allocation of financial resources.
  • Manage relationships with external media agencies, creative partners, and service providers to ensure the highest quality of campaign execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of campaign strategies, performance results, and key learnings for continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
This role is critical in driving the effectiveness and efficiency of UNICEF Chile's digital fundraising initiatives. The position directly contributes to the organization’s ability to increase Regular Resources (RR) funding by:
•Enhancing Campaign Oversight: Ensuring real-time monitoring and systematic control over fundraising campaigns, allowing for timely adjustments and performance optimization.
•Driving Innovation: Identifying and implementing new initiatives, expanding digital engagement strategies, and exploring emerging fundraising channels.
•Data-Driven Decision-Making: Establishing robust data management processes to ensure accurate performance tracking and informed strategic decision-making.
•Optimizing Partnerships: Strengthening relationships with external vendors

  • Education: Completion of secondary education is required. Additional training or university-level coursework in management, marketing, sales, communications, digital media, business administration, or related fields is highly desirable. A strong foundation in digital marketing strategies, data analysis, and fundraising methodologies will be considered an asset. Certifications in digital advertising, social media marketing, or customer relationship management (CRM) tools are advantageous.

  • Work Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, or donor acquisition, with a demonstrated ability to manage and optimize digital campaigns for revenue growth.
    Experience in managing sales teams, supervising groups, or leading fundraising initiatives, particularly in the nonprofit sector, digital marketing, or e-commerce, is highly desirable.
    Hands-on experience with digital advertising platforms, such as Google Ads, Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Ads, programmatic advertising, and search engine marketing (SEM).
    Strong background in data-driven decision-making, audience segmentation, and performance optimization using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), or fundraising automation software.
    Previous experience working with multi-channel fundraising strategies, donor retention programs, or membership-based acquisition models is a strong asset.
    Knowledge of budget management, campaign tracking, and reporting metrics to assess return on investment (ROI) and optimize performance.

  • Preferred Skills:
    Experience in developing and implementing paid media strategies, including social media marketing, content marketing, and digital lead generation.
    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track trends, and optimize fundraising performance.
    Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and customer journey mapping.
    Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination abilities, ensuring cross-functional alignment and successful campaign execution.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
