UNICEF is supporting the government of Indonesia to scale up the free meal programme in Papua province. The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise in reviewing and assessing the architectural layout and cost estimates of kitchen facility infrastructure to ensure functional, cost-efficient, and aligned with national standards for food safety, hygiene, and nutrition service delivery. This will support the effective implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme for children and pregnant women in Papua by ensuring that physical infrastructure is well-designed, appropriately budgeted, and capable of sustaining high-quality meal preparation and distribution. The overarching aim of this consultancy is to support the analysis and benchmarking for the SDGs related to children as part of the development of the report “Progress on Children’s Well-Being”, including the life-course index. The work is to be carried out using GitHub, our database, and in collaboration with the sectoral data managers/analysts in D&A. The consultant will work on country briefs/ factsheets based on the report on the benchmarking and, separately, on the life course. The consultant will enhance and automate the existing R-based workflow to generate standardized factsheets across multiple countries as well as the production of charts for the report. The consultant will be responsible for writing syntax, maintaining the GitHub repository, and supporting the publication process in collaboration with the PEG team. All code and documentation will be prepared to ensure long-term scalability and reproducibility of the process.
