Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

UNICEF Georgia is committed to advancing the rights and well-being of every child. Engaging the private sector is a key strategy to mobilize resources, drive innovation, and promote responsible business practices that support children's rights.

UNICEF Georgia has mapped private sector partners and developed a Private Sector Engagement Strategy that has guided partnerships over recent years. The Business Advisory Council (BAC), established in 2022, served as a platform for dialogue with the business community but now requires revitalization to align with current priorities and opportunities.

The purpose of this consultancy is to:

  • Assess and revitalize the BAC.
  • Identify and engage new private sector partners aligned with UNICEF’s country programme.
  • Promote the Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) among businesses.
  • Identify innovative fundraising opportunities.

Scope of Work and Key Tasks

1. Assessment and Revitalization of the Business Advisory Council

  • Review BAC’s current structure, membership, and performance.
  • Consult with BAC members and stakeholders to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Propose a revitalization strategy, including updated ToR, member engagement plans, and operational mechanisms.
  • Recommend regular engagement platforms (e.g., meetings, thematic groups).

2. Private Sector Partnership Development

  • Update mapping of potential private sector partners aligned with UNICEF objectives.
  • Develop tailored value propositions by sector (e.g., tech, finance, retail, manufacturing).
  • Support outreach and build relationships with high-potential companies.
  • Co-create partnership concepts in UNICEF's key areas (e.g., education, child protection).
  • Develop strategies for corporate partner recognition and visibility.

3. Implementation of Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP)

  • Conduct a baseline assessment of CRBP awareness and practices in Georgia.
  • Develop an action plan for CRBP implementation, including awareness and advocacy.
  • Identify early adopters and champions in the private sector.
  • Support organization of CRBP promotion events (e.g., workshops, roundtables).

4. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization

  • Identify innovative private sector fundraising opportunities (e.g., sponsorships, shared value initiatives).
  • Develop a fundraising strategy with defined targets and timeline.
  • Provide donor stewardship guidance and support impact reporting.
  • Facilitate outreach to potential private sector donors.

Minimum requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in business, economics, development studies, or related field.

Knowledge / Expertise / Skills Required

  • At least 7 years of experience in private sector engagement, CSR, partnerships, or advisory roles.
  • Experience in organizational assessments, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of CSR, shared value, sustainability, and responsible business practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in Georgian and English.
