The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Applic Developer Analyst V. This position will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining comprehensive, secure, scalable biomedical data enclaves. These enclaves will integrate diverse multimodal datasets (imaging, clinical, genomic, histopathology, microscopy, EHR) across a variety of biomedical domains. The role involves both architectural oversight and hands-on engineering, ensuring robust data integration and analytics solutions for research and clinical use.
Essential Functions;
Data Architect
• Architect and deliver robust ETL processes and data pipelines, enabling integration of structured and unstructured biomedical datasets from heterogeneous sources.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data engineering and analytics infrastructures, leveraging hybrid cloud (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and on-premise (UF’s HiPerGator) resources.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple biomedical projects, managing end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), technical deliverables, and quality assurance.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to advance data infrastructure capabilities.
Regulatory
• Develop and implement standardized data models, schemas, metadata frameworks, and interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7/FHIR, OMOP) for seamless data integration.
• Establish and enforce rigorous data governance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR) and data security protocols.
• Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, IT teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet scientific, clinical, and operational needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and architects, contributing actively to the professional growth of the team
