Classification Title:

Research Regulatory Analyst III

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:
  • Review of IRB submissions (new submissions, modifications) to evaluate proposal content and compliance with  Federal, and State regulations, and UF policies. Assisting investigators in preparing protocols for IRB review, including recommending changes and communicating outcome of review.
  • Coordinate with IRB pre-reviewers in the pre-review of research; identify and (resources permitting)        help resolve issues in research relating to Federal Regulations, IRB policies, and other regulatory              requirements or compliance needs;
    • Communicate reviewer feedback to the researchers and research teams.
    • Intra and inter office communication, including listserv to address researcher needs and inquires about the IRB matters, including myIRB assistance, ICF and protocol assistance.
  • Review and approve research that meets exempt, nonhuman, or indefinite plans criteria.
  • Review of Ceded submissions; p-Site onboarding when UF is the sIRB; cross training with international ancillary review duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (health care strongly desired), or college work in science and/or research with five years of appropriate experience.  Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.  Must command an understanding of regulatory issues dealing with the protection of human subjects and the HIPAA regulations regarding personal health information.  Ability to act as liaison for the University of Florida IRB and to use negotiation skills to resolve conflicts with investigators regarding their protocols and access to medical records.
