UF Student Assistant
This position is open to all students eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum of 2.0 grade point average.

Job Description:

UFIT’s Student PR Specialist supports the communications and outreach needs of the division by:

  • Writing, photographing and editing content for three social media channels
  • Writing content about IT-based services to a variety of UF communication channels
  • Developing video scripts and being on-camera for student-focused video messages uploaded to UFIT’s YouTube channel
  • Creating graphics using Canva or desktop publishing platforms
  • Serving on a team that delivers on numerous PR plans and outreach events throughout the year
  • Evaluating content and metrics of UFIT’s website and social media as well as those of the top-10 public universities (peer review analysis)

Expected Salary:

$14.50 per hour; commensurate based on education and experience

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and skills:

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student graduating no earlier than Spring 2026
  • Well-versed in AP Style
  • Able to clearly communicate value, whether it’s in a social media post, story or video script
  • Comfortable engaging with university faculty, students and staff
  • Basic Excel skills

The dress code for this position is business casual-to-medium for each shift (e.g., no t-shirts, shorts or flip flops.) 

 

This is a part-time position. Student PR Specialists may work between 10 and 20 hours per week, depending on schedule.
