| Job Description: | The Wilson laboratory in the Center for Research in Perinatal Outcomes, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to our focused research program investigating maternal-fetal health and developmental programming. Our lab specializes in understanding how maternal stressors during pregnancy influence placental physiology, fetal development and long-term health outcomes. The successful candidate will join a dedicated research team conducting translational studies using animal models, human tissue samples and cell culture systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment that spans basic science, translational research, and clinical studies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Assist in conducting experiments using animal, cell and human tissue modelsPerform laboratory techniques including tissue collection, processing and analysisSupport studies related to pre-natal and post-natal outcomesConduct molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blots, immunohistochemistry)Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentationAssist in data collection, analysis, and presentationHelp with laboratory management, maintenance and inventory | 
| Expected Salary: | $60,000.00 - Salary is commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary scales. | 
| Minimum Requirements: | A PhD degree in Biology, Physiology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. | 
| Preferred Qualifications: | 
Laboratory experience in molecular biology techniquesDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projectsStrong problem-solving skills with proven ability to troubleshoot technical issuesExperience with animal handling and basic laboratory proceduresStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExperience with reproductive biology or pregnancy researchFamiliarity with pregnancy and placental biologyTrack-record of supervisory responsibilitiesExperience with data analysis softwareExperience working autonomously while maintaining effective team communication in an academic research setting |
