Bachelors degree in biology or a related field and seven years of experience or Masters degree in biology or a related field with five year of experience. Doctoral degree in biology or related field with two years of experience.

Job Description:

- Performing, coordinating, and supervising a variety of routine immunological and molecular biology methodologies. These include independently performing ELISAs, PCR, NGS, Western Blotting, and tissue immunostaining (immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry). Be able to extract, quantify and process DNA, RNA and protein from biological samples (tissue, cells, blood serum, etc. Be able to modify existing research protocols to reflect changes or improvements in techniques or to incorporate new procedures most appropriate for research goals. Oversee and execute laboratory experiments and assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing research data.  Managing laboratory teams and/or monitor the quality of a team’s work; assist in supervising or direction the work of other scientists, technicians, and other workers and evaluating the accuracy of their results; assist in teaching or advising undergraduate or graduate students or supervising their research. Assist with instructing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in methods or procedures. Modify laboratory experiments; oversee their execution; and assist in reviewing, approving, or interpreting results. Modify existing computational approaches and analytical tools as required by research goals. Provide scientific services for clients in a clinic, laboratory, or research setting. Conduct biological research in accordance with stipulated protocols and quality and safety standards. Compile data; create or use statistical models for the analysis of data. Assist in testing and mastering new and updated tools and software. Assist in developing data models; assist in designing and maintaining computer databases; may manipulate publicly accessible, commercial, or proprietary databases.

- Performing, coordinating, and supervising routine microbiological methodologies. These include ability to grow bacteria and yeast in both planktonic and biofilm state, perform microbroth dilution methodology, determine minimum inhibitory and bactericidal/fungicidal concentration. Be able to modify existing research protocols to reflect changes or improvements in techniques or to incorporate new procedures most appropriate for research goals. Oversee and execute laboratory experiments and assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing research data. Managing laboratory teams and/or monitor the quality of a team’s work; assist in supervising or direction the work of other scientists, technicians, and other workers and evaluating the accuracy of their results; assist in teaching or advising undergraduate or graduate students or supervising their research. Assist with instructing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in methods or procedures. Modify laboratory experiments; oversee their execution; and assist in reviewing, approving, or interpreting results. Modify existing computational approaches and analytical tools as required by research goals. Provide scientific services for clients in a clinic, laboratory, or research setting. - Performing, coordinating, and supervising routine cell culture methodologies. These include ability to isolate, grow, and maintain mammalian primary and immortalized cells. Be able to perform and maintain tridimensional skin models. Be able to modify existing research protocols to reflect changes or improvements in techniques or to incorporate new procedures most appropriate for research goals. Oversee, execute laboratory experiments and assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing research data. Managing laboratory teams and/or monitor the quality of a team’s work; assist in supervising or direction the work of other scientists, technicians, and other workers and evaluating the accuracy of their results; assist in teaching or advising undergraduate or graduate students or supervising their research. Assist with instructing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in methods or procedures. Modify laboratory experiments; oversee their execution; and assist in reviewing, approving, or interpreting results. Modify existing computational approaches and analytical tools as required by research goals. Provide scientific services for clients in a clinic, laboratory, or research setting. Conduct biological research in accordance with stipulated protocols and quality and safety standards. Compile data; create or use statistical models for the analysis of data. Assist in testing and mastering new and updated tools and software. - This position may also include responsibility and involvement in clinical trial settings (direct contact with animals and clients). Assists in preparing figures, abstracts and manuscripts for publication, as well as grants and IACUC submissions.

- This position may include supervisory responsibility for students, graduate students, staff and volunteers. Oversee and execute laboratory experiments and assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing research data.  Managing laboratory teams and/or monitor the quality of a team’s work; assist in supervising or direction the work of other scientists, technicians, and other workers and evaluating the accuracy of their results; assist in teaching or advising undergraduate or graduate students or supervising their research. Assist with instructing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in methods or procedures.

Commensurate with experience and education

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in biology or a related field and seven years of experience or Masters degree in biology or a related field with five year of experience. Doctoral degree in biology or related field with two years of experience.

Preferred:

• Proficiency in cell culturing methodology
• Proficiency using statistical software
• Proficiency using computers, basic software, web-based google apps/products, troubleshooting, and desire to expand these skills for use with niche software, medical, or computer devices which may need operated
