| The University of Florida (UF) is embarking on a campus-wide strategic initiative to hire clusters of faculty members with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), broadly defined. As part of this initiative, the Department of Neurosurgery is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position focusing on AI applications in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and/or health outcomes. Additionally, applications for neurosurgical diseases, i.e. cerebrovascular disease, primary and metastatic tumors treated by stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), etc. where data science, machine learning, and AI applications may improve diagnosis, treatment, and/or disease prevention are of interest.
The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs. |

| The Solt lab in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology has a NIH funded postdoctoral position available for a highly talented, creative, independent, and self-motivated researcher. The Solt lab focuses on understanding how a superfamily of ligand-regulated transcription factors, termed nuclear receptors, influence T cell development, function, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Our goals are two-fold: 1) better understand how nuclear receptors function in immunity, and 2) develop and characterize small molecule ligands that modulate nuclear receptor function to determine their therapeutic value. We joined the University of Florida, one of the nation’s top five public universities, in April 2022. The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute advances human health through biomedical research, drug discovery and clinical studies, while providing outstanding educational opportunities to inspire and train the next generation of scientists. In addition, the Skaggs Graduate School of Chemical and Biological Sciences at Scripps Research trains the next generation of scientists on our campus through its nationally recognized Ph.D. program in biomedical sciences. |
