| The School of Theatre and Dance (SoTD) seeks a federal work study colleague to join the SOTD team as a Student Assistant. The SoTD Student Assistant will collaborate closely with the Assistant to the SoTD Director in completing required duties and assigned projects. Student-employees who hold this position often serve as a first point of contact for the public, guests, prospective and incoming students, SoTD faculty & staff. In addition to providing coverage of the SoTD reception area, our new colleague will assist the SoTD Company Manager with tasks to help maintain the classroom studios, office areas, and other SoTD spaces. This may include things such as checking and adjusting inventory in studios, checking for maintenance issues, assisting with projects as needed, and filling out reports about the status of the building areas. The student assistant may assist the Company Manager to prepare for SoTD events such as the Young Dancers Workshop, BFA Auditions (acting and dance), Spotlight, Ric Rose Award, and potential retirement events during the Student Assistant’s normally scheduled hours. There may also be some out of normal hours events that require assistance.

This position is also part of the workforce for the distinct component entities serving the governing councils of the University of Florida J Hillis Miller Health Center Self-Insurance Program (UF SIP), Florida State University Self-Insurance Program (FSU SIP), University of Central Florida Self-Insurance Program (UCF SIP), Florida Atlantic University Self-Insurance Program (FAU SIP), Florida International University Self-Insurance Program (FIU SIP), and the Florida Board of Governors (collectively SIPs). The University of Florida serves as the pay agent for the staff members serving HEIC and the FBOG SIPs.
This position assists leadership to meet the duties required by the HEIC board of Directors and 5 University SIP governing councils. Workforce ensure HEIC and SIPs meet the requirements of Florida healthcare professional liability laws and regulations.
