The School of Theatre + Dance in the College of the Arts seeks a student assistant in the role of Wardrobe & Crafts Assistant to provide assistance in the costume area under the supervision of the Costume Shop Manager. This position works closely with the Costume Shop Manager and has the opportunity to collaborate in all aspects of costume production including but not limited to: School of Theatre + Dance (SoTD) production daily maintenance and laundering of costumes including washing, drying, ironing, steaming, and organizing costumes. Whenever possible, this position will also assist with specialty costume projects, such as: wig styling, millinery, dye projects, and other possibilities.
The position may also assist the costume shop with the completion of costume mock-ups and garments, including ironing, hand and machine basting, hand and machine sewing, embellishing, and altering costumes as needed.
A successful candidate will have Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility; demonstrate a strong interest in live entertainment production and/or scenic construction, possess strong organization skills; and work independently as well as collaboratively.

The School of Theatre + Dance in the College of the Arts seeks a student assistant to provide lighting and sound assistance under supervision of the Master Electrician and Production Sound Engineer. The successful candidate for this role will have some experience in theatrical lighting and/or sound. Working under the supervision of faculty and staff, the assistant will help maintain the School of Theatre and Dance’s lighting and sound inventory and equipment, ensuring the facilities are operational, safe, and organized. Responsibilities include assisting with production setups, maintaining software on production and lab computers, supervising work crews, and supporting special projects as assigned.

The School of Theatre and Dance (SoTD) seeks a federal work study colleague to join the SOTD team as a Student Assistant. The SoTD Student Assistant will collaborate closely with the Assistant to the SoTD Director in completing required duties and assigned projects. Student-employees who hold this position often serve as a first point of contact for the public, guests, prospective and incoming students, SoTD faculty & staff. In addition to providing coverage of the SoTD reception area, our new colleague will assist the SoTD Company Manager with tasks to help maintain the classroom studios, office areas, and other SoTD spaces. This may include things such as checking and adjusting inventory in studios, checking for maintenance issues, assisting with projects as needed, and filling out reports about the status of the building areas. The student assistant may assist the Company Manager to prepare for SoTD events such as the Young Dancers Workshop, BFA Auditions (acting and dance), Spotlight, Ric Rose Award, and potential retirement events during the Student Assistant’s normally scheduled hours. There may also be some out of normal hours events that require assistance.
