| The ASM will provide physical security oversight including verifying personnel prior to allowing entry in the Defense Information System for Security
(DISS), ensuring personnel are properly signed in, adding onsite personnel to the facility's automated entry control system (card key system), ensuring all visitors are properly escorted within the classified space to safeguard classified information and minimize work interruptions. The ASM will take responsibility for the daily opening and closing coordinate with approved personnel, respond to IDS system failures, and provide escorts for operations and maintenance. The ASM will coordinate these activities with the Air Force Security Team and the Florida Applied Research in Engineering (FLARE) Director. The ASM appointment will be at UF Building 1701, adjacent to the UF-REEF facility located in Shalimar, Florida. |

OPS - Community Scientist Bilingual

| Community Scientists engage with communities to support recruitment of community members to serve as participants in health disparities- and cancer-related research studies conducted or supported by the Community-Partnered Cancer Disparities Research Collaborative, with the UF Health Cancer Institute. The ideal candidate is outgoing, articulate, creative, and comfortable initiating conversations with individuals they may not know. This role requires explaining research studies, answering questions, and helping eligible community members understand the benefits of participating in research. Because recruiting populations that have historically been underrepresented in research, including Black and Hispanic individuals, particularly men, can be challenging, successful candidates should be resourceful, proactive, and able to think creatively when engaging with community members and trying to earn their trust.
Community Scientists collect data from research participants, including height and weight, and are trained to obtain informed consent from participants. Candidates will complete IRB certification training, in addition to other job training. It would be useful for candidates to have connections within the Gainesville community, such as connections with local churches and community organizations. Although some meetings are virtual, Community Scientists should be able to attend in-person meetings, training sessions, and community events as needed. |
