The Makino Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Biological Scientist III at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, Florida. Our area of research focuses on vascular complications in Diabetes, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Kawasaki Disease, in particular cell-cell communication in endothelial and smooth muscle cells, mitochondrial function, and calcium handling in the endoplasmic reticulum. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced laboratory, on various projects pertaining to basic and translational research focused on heart and lung vascular pathobiology, electrophysiology, and the pathogenic mechanisms of vascular and inflammatory diseases. The incumbent must have skills to conduct animal and cell physiological experiments and molecular biological experiments using isolated cells.
