Visiting Assistant Professor of Medieval History


Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally-ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Medieval History beginning July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will teach both survey and seminar-level courses in medieval history in Europe and the broader Mediterranean world. We are seeking candidates whose research and teaching feature a global approach to studying medieval history. The visitor will also benefit from Kenyon students’ passionate interest in the humanities and strengthen their credentials with a year of teaching at Kenyon. Candidates should have a record of excellent teaching and a Ph.D. in hand or be near completion by the beginning of the appointment.

Candidates advancing to the interview stage will be asked to submit a statement of teaching philosophy that addresses the pedagogical inclusion of a diverse student population and an unofficial graduate school transcript.
