Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Campus Safety Telecommunications Officer, Part-Time. Hours worked per week and shifts worked will be dependent on coverage needs, including weekends and possibly holidays. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour between the hours of 7:00am to 3:00pm, $19.50 between the hours of 3:00pm to 7:00am. Part-Time Campus Safety Telecommunication Officers receive double their hourly pay rate when scheduled to work a shift during recognized college holidays. This is a collectively bargained position and without benefits. 
 
This position is responsible for safety operations in the Office of Campus Safety through the dispatch center within the Office of Campus Safety. A Telecommunications Officer must show proficiency and support of the summarized duties and responsibilities listed below:
  • Safety operations include gathering information and disseminating information concerning criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, hazardous incidents, potentially violent incidents, auto accidents, and others. 
  • The Telecommunications Officer position works with the shift Supervisors, Director of Campus Safety, Associate Director of Campus Safety and Division of Student Affairs to ensure that information gathered in general campus calls and situations are appropriately logged and prepared for reports. 
  • Telecommunication Officers must have the ability to hear normal conversation and radio traffic. 
  • Telecommunication Officers must have the ability to see and read small print on a computer screen.
