Job Duties
- Warehouse Operations
- Manage the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse.
- Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product.
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
- Take into account full implications of freight turnover, size, weight, and other factors when allocating warehouse space.
- Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for warehousing functions across the organization.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.
- Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of, moving equipment like trailers, forklifts, crash pads, dollies, and so on.
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary.
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving.
- Reporting (Time Sheets)
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation
- Accountable for the preparation of timesheets for each workman in the team and secure approval from the supervisor.
- Maintain warehouse foreman’s log and warehouse reports.
- Prepare daily records.
- Report on work progress
- Project execution & adherence to HSE
- Provide leadership that results in a safe work culture. Translate general wok requirements into prioritized workplan for the workmen.
- Facilitate mandatory safety toolbox meetings. Communicate and ensure compliance with OHSA and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that workmen are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
- Check for appropriate utilization of equipment and workers on site. Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
- Periodically reassess daily goals to meet forecasted production
- Ensure completion of initial safety and hazard assessments
- Participate in safety / incident investigations
- Compound upkeep
- People Management
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation
- Provides orientation, training, and assistance to subordinates in their daily tasks
- Provides feedback on resource and training needs
- Performs annual performance review of warehouse staff
- Builds, motivates and retains a team that consistently meets deadlines
Job Requirements
- Graduate of any Business or Engineering course
- Computer literate
- Training/Certification in Warehouse management and inventory
- Total Work Experience: 4-5 Years experience in similar position preferably from large infrastructure project
- Warehouse management and inventory experience
