About This Role:

A Research Assistant position for an Archaeologist is available within the Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work department at Kansas State University. The position is funded under an Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA) between Ft. Riley and K-State. Primary duties of the role include performing archaeological surveys and site assessments, classifying, and describing archeological materials recovered through surveys, and providing support of others writing technical reports. This position is funded through May 31, 2024, and will not be renewed.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal archaeological field school or comparable training or experience.
- Master’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology.
- Two years of relevant archaeological experience.
- Experience in Great Plains archaeology.
- Experience in cultural resource management.
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
- Possess valid U.S. Driver’s License upon employment.
- Pass background checks at Kansas State University and Fort Riley.
