About This Role:

The Administrative Support Center (ASC) is actively seeking a Director of ASC Operations and Strategic Initiatives to join the team. In this leadership role, the incumbent will oversee strategic initiatives and business process changes for the financial side of the Administrative Support Center (ASC). The primary responsibilities will include developing service center plans, ensuring continuous improvement, maintaining service standards, and providing project leadership and coordination across all ASC teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, communication, training, and oversight of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement service center plans to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure service standards are consistently met.
  • Coordinate and establish aggressive timelines for initiatives.
  • Confirm staffing levels are sufficient to achieve initiative success.
  • Direct change management of business processes for multiple campus administrative departments.
  • Support business process functions including procurement, payments, travel reimbursements, procurement card management, cash deposits, accounts receivable, invoicing, monthly reconciliation, and financial reports.
  • Serve as the financial liaison, communicating business process changes and updates to department heads and staff.
  • Support the development of best practice processes and technology solutions in finance management.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising staff and coaching employees for improved performance and professional development
  • Experience serving as a financial manager
  • Knowledge of higher education fund accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience working in higher education or governmental agencies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of advanced financial, accounting, and budgeting principles and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and integrate complex financial analysis and prepare comprehensive capital/operating budget summaries and projections
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop complex financial models
  • Demonstrated project management skills to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities to examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, to formulate and to develop and implement new strategies and procedures
  • Familiarity with the PeopleSoft HRIS software, the KSU Annual Budget System, Oracle Financial software, and PeopleSoft KSIS software
  • Knowledge of the K-State Budget and Human Resources (HR) practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated customer service skills as applicable to the responsibilities of this position
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise wise judgment, discretion as appropriate, and an understanding of applying confidentiality to work
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally and courteously with diverse individuals and groups at all levels
