The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology is seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc) for independent research involving viruses such as influenza, Foot and Mount Disease Virus, African swine fever virus, Rift Valley fever virus, Vesicular Stomatis Virus and other select agents. This position will require the individual to move to New York State and work at Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIACD) for several months to years for ongoing animal research studies.
Research Assistant (Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana) Other
The Department of Applied Human Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking a Research Assistant to join their work on a USDA-funded Family Advocacy Program study at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. This position will serve as the on-site administrator of the sponsored project to facilitate daily implementation of the research project by promoting the program, selecting research participants, designing and implementing database information, and collaborating with the researchers at Kansas State University, Northern Illinois University, and Barksdale Air Force Base. This position reports to the sponsored project’s principal investigator.
University Attending Veterinarian & Director of Comparative Medicine Group Manhattan, Kansas
The University Attending Veterinarian and CMG Director has the primary responsibility for providing veterinary clinical care and research support for animal research/teaching activities in KSU animal research facilities. Directs the CMG staff in working with the URCO staff on research compliance matters dealing with the Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). May be appointed by the KSU Institutional Official (IO) to serve as a voting member of the IACUC and IBC committees. Works closely with Animal Facility Manager(s) to oversee daily operations in animal care. Provides training and guidance to research personnel on animal handling, experimental animal techniques/procedures, and animal biosafety level (e.g., ABSL-1, ABSL-2, & ABSL-3) practices and procedures as required. Has direct responsibility for ensuring that all veterinary clinical standards of care, laws, regulations and guidelines related to animal care and use and biosafety/biosecurity are met.
McPherson County Family and Community Wellness Extension Agent Other
McPherson County, population 28,500, is located in central Kansas. Its county seat, McPherson, home to McPherson and Central Colleges, is located at the intersection of Interstate 135 and Highway 56 approximately 50 miles north of Wichita. McPherson County is known for both its strong industrial and agricultural base and for being a clean, attractive and progressive area. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development and implementation of research-based educational programming to build healthy, sustainable communities, families and individuals. Programming will be conducted with volunteers, other community vitality and family and consumer sciences professionals at the local, regional and state level. Programming may include but is not limited to: strengthening families and individuals, building community capacity, family and community health and wellness, and local volunteer development.

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University seeks an Instructor/Academic Coordinator. The successful candidate will assist the Assistant Head for Teaching with administering and managing all aspects of the Agronomy Teaching Program.
21 Central District 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other
The recently formed 21 Central Extension District is comprised of both Stafford and Edwards counties located in south central Kansas. The Stafford County office is located in the county seat of St. John and the Edwards County office is located in the county seat of Kinsley. There are a total of 11 small communities in both counties combined with a population of almost 7,000 people. The current district staff consists of three Extension Agents and one office professional. When 21 Central is fully staffed, it will have a total of four extension agents and two office professionals. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local residents and extension colleagues. The primary focus of this position is youth development, adult volunteer development, youth education program development, expanding partnerships, and participation and membership growth. Programming will include but is not limited to: supporting community clubs, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create new program opportunities with existing and new community partners.
Pratt County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent Other
Pratt County is a two agent county. This position shares the responsibility for economic development and the 4-H program. Pratt County has two school districts, is home to Pratt Community College, and Pratt Regional Medical Center. Pratt’s economy is boosted by the Next GINeration Cotton Gin, the Pratt Energy Ethanol Plant, and four major grain merchandisers including eleven branches. Pratt is also home to the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Recreation. Other communities in Pratt County are Iuka, Byers, Preston, Cairo, Cullison, Sawyer, and Coats. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development and implementation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming will include but is not limited to: agronomic and livestock production, agricultural economics, management and public policy, horticultural production and management, natural resources conservation, and environmental stewardship.
Shawnee County 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other
The Shawnee County Extension office is located in Topeka, the capitol city of Kansas. Their staff consists of six agents, two program assistants, two full-time office professionals, one part-time office professional and four nutrition educators. Shawnee County has a rural and urban population of over 176,000 residents and is home to six school districts.  Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local residents and extension colleagues. The Space Planning Coordinator will be responsible for collecting and managing building data across multiple databases. Provide reports on data and space utilization, building inventory, etc. Prepare and complete space audits of buildings and interface with campus users to ensure accuracy. This includes setup, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and financial reporting to the Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads and Directors. This position also plans, coordinates and facilitates scholarship committee activity, scholarship amount determination and scholarship distribution to students in the DVM program, as well as scholarship reporting for the Dean, Assistant Dean, and accreditation entities.
