Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is accepting applicants for Associate Registrar and Academic Scheduler in the Registrar’s Office.  Under the supervision of the Registrar, this position is responsible for providing support and for meeting the needs of the Registrar, office staff, Deans, Department Heads, faculty, students and visitors to the College. The position collaborates and works closely with Admissions, ITS, the Treasurer’s Office, Financial Aid and academic departments along with various other departments throughout campus. In the absence of the Registrar, the Associate Registrar will assume the day-to-day leadership of the office.


  • Oversees the registration process by managing The Citadel’s academic schedule for each term, enforces registration timelines and policies, registers incoming students over the summer as well as participants in other Citadel initiatives (i.e. special cohorts groups)


  • Ensure effective communication of policies and procedures with appropriate timelines in regards to registration and scheduling at the college


  • Build, publish and provide reports and utilize various data extraction tools to support the colleges mission (i.e. Cognos, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, SQL)


  • Assist with the implementation, education, development and ongoing management of technology projects in the office by applying knowledge, skills, and tools to meet the projects requirements in the colleges systems such as Banner, Degree Works, EMS, and Cognos


  • Interpret and ensure compliance with record keeping standards, as well as college policies and procedures and insure that the operations of the office are in compliance with those policies while providing excellent student service pertaining to academic records and registration.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required and at least five (5) years’ experience in Student Services/Student Affairs in higher education.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of registration procedures and an understanding of computer principles and procedures. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public. Ability to provide supportive counseling for a wide range of student issues and concerns.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred. Experience with Banner, Degree Works, Scribe and Cognos report writing is highly desirable.
