The Veteran Student Success Center (VSSC) is accepting applications for a full-time hourly temporary, Veteran Services Administrative Coordinator. Under general supervision of the Associate Director, this position will perform a variety of administrative functions as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Counsels veterans and military-connected students on the services and resources available to them across campus and surrounding community.
- Provides administrative support services, including but not limited to, filing and purging records, processing incoming and outgoing mail, managing the front office.
- Provide assistance to prospective students and parents with general inquiries about Veteran education benefits via phone, email, or in person.
- Assist with reporting of student enrollment information at the beginning of each term and reviewing schedule adjustments throughout the semester.
- Assist with organization of veteran/student-related files, while maintaining maximum confidentiality by adhering to FERPA regulations.
- Responsible for the daily management of the student lounge including supply ordering and stocking.
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
SKILLS
- The ability to learn and follow complex procedures and detailed policies is required.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use computerized management information systems (databases) are required.
- Considerable data entry work is required. The position requires extended periods of time at a computer station and extensive utilization of information displayed on a computer monitor.
- High-level problem-solving skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree or a minimum of two (2) years equivalent work experience related to higher education and/or student services.
- Understanding of the needs of first time and non-traditional students.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be skilled in Microsoft Office, filing system and proper documentation of records.
- Must be adaptable to performing under moderate to heavy levels of stress imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads and student/public contact.
PREFERRED
- Knowledge of VA educational benefits.
- Experience working with military service members.
