Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is accepting applications for a Campus Support Technician in the Department of Information and Technology Services. This position is a key member of the ITS team, responsible for delivering advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students across campus.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Tier 3 technical support through The Citadel’s IT ticketing system.
  • Sound and audiovisual (AV) support for classroom instruction and campus events such as graduation, guest lectures, ceremonies, and official functions.
  • On-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of computer systems, peripherals, and classroom AV systems.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and macOS computers, printers, scanners, projectors, and related equipment.
  • Software installation, data transfer, and configuration.
  • Formal and informal training of faculty, staff, and students on computing and AV technologies.
  • Setup, operation, and troubleshooting of microphones, speakers, livestream and video feeds, and projection systems for campus events.
  • Coordination with event staff and other departments to ensure successful AV delivery and minimal downtime.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

  • Associate degree in computer science or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and four (4) years of experience in computer systems support, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows operating systems and related hardware.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism in a diverse academic environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license required; must be able to drive a van and golf cart.
  • Availability to support after-hours and weekend events as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Dell Certified DOSD
  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience
  • Prior experience supporting AV and sound systems for live events or large-scale presentations
