The Role
The Contract Business Partner is responsible for driving financial integrity, commercial insight, and operational performance across the Glencore contracts. The role partners closely with operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting, disciplined cost control, and data-driven decision-making that enhances profitability and contract performance.
This role is critical in translating financial data into actionable insights, ensuring projects and service delivery operate within budget, and supporting sustainable business growth.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead end-to-end financial reporting including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly reporting and executive insights
- Provide clear variance analysis and performance commentary
- Maintain strong financial controls and audit readiness
Commercial & Performance Insight
- Provide detailed contract performance analysis, including:
- Gross and net margin analysis
- Labour utilisation and recovery rates
- UKG Roster labour management
- Cost leakage identification and inefficiency analysis
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting profitability
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and KPI frameworks
- Present financial performance insights to senior the Key Account Director
Planning & Forecasting
- Deliver rolling monthly and quarterly forecasts with clear assumptions and drivers
- Partner with operational managers to ensure realistic, accountable forecasts
- Monitor financial performance against plans and drive corrective actions
Operational Business Partnering
- Act as the key finance business partner to operational managers and Village Managers (VMs)
- Translate financial data into practical, operational insights that improve site performance
- Challenge and support site managers on cost control, productivity, and spend discipline
- Improve financial literacy across non-financial stakeholders through coaching and reporting
- Attend operational review meetings and contribute to commercial decision-making
- Support onboarding of new operational leaders by providing financial context and training
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Glencore finance and commercial contacts
- Present financial performance and insights to internal and client leadership
- Collaborate with ISS shared services, procurement, and People & Culture teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across financial and operational processes
- Contribute to the broader Energy & Resources leadership team
You are a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys influencing outcomes.
You will bring:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CA / CPA / CIMA (or working towards)
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems
- Ability to engage, challenge, and influence non-financial stakeholders
- A desire to travel to site to understand our operations and our people
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a business partnering role
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, KPI reporting and forecasting
- Experience partnering with operational or non-financial managers
Highly regarded:
- Knowledge of contract or project-based accounting
- Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
