Job description:

Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility). Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit. Rotations to Rural Practice sites across the state are available.

To support this commitment, we are seeking interest from suitably qualified Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) for various opportunities through the 2024 Mid-Year Recruitment.

The role:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital (or rural facility).
  • Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.
  • Rotations to Rural Practice sites across the state are available.
  • Perform a vital role within a multi-disciplinary team working towards achieving the best possible patient care in a contemporary and well support clinical setting. 
  • Assist to fulfill the tasks associated with the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and surrounding rural facilities.
  • Tasks may include but are not limited to, admissions, discharge planning, respond to calls by patient's care team, attend ward rounds, accurate medical record practices, efficient recording of drugs and treatment and appropriate interaction with patients and their families.
  • Under direction and appropriate supervision of Registrars, ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and procedures.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 10 June 2024 until 17 January 2027.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: 

Resident Medical Officers Level 2 - 4 $92,500 - $105,000 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. General or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  2. Current Working with Children Registration

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
