Job description:

Department of Health currently have a permanent full time opportunity available for a Tradesperson - Electrician to join the Infrastructure - Asset Management Services team at the North West Regional Hospital.

The role:

  • As directed by the Senior Tradesperson - Electrical and Instrumentation, and the Regional Manager - Facilities Engineering and Management Services, maintain, install, commission, test and ensure statutory compliance of health facility electrical equipment, including:
    • L.V. supply systems
    • Control and other specialised systems
    • Emergency power and lighting systems
    • Fire Alarm Systems (including isolation of fire alarm systems)
    • Other health facility general building services
    • All power reticulation equipment and plant together with associated control and switch gear.
  • Supervise and be responsible for high voltage switching and isolating operation and appropriate safety procedures as required.
  • In consultation with supervisory staff, design, implement and review programmed maintenance schedules.
  • Assist other staff in day-to-day Facilities Engineering and Management Services Team operations whilst working within the boundaries of trade qualification, knowledge and experience. This includes providing work feedback reports, ensuring deadlines, specifications and quality standards are met and providing trade technical advice and relieving absent electrical supervisory staff as required.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on call), position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Current relevant Practitioner’s Licence recognised by the Department of Justice, Tasmania

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Previous experience in the Health Care Industry

  2. Current Driver’s Licence
