Job description:

This position will be based with our Hospitals North Paediatric team provide assessment and treatment to children aged 0-4 years with speech, language and fluency disorders. And you’ll get to do this alongside highly accomplished Speechies with national and international experience to share, all while making a difference to the lives of a diverse and inclusive community.

The as a member of the Hospitals North Paediatric Speech Pathology Team the successful applicant will: 

  • work with a highly experienced team of Speech Pathologists based at the Launceston General Hospital Paediatric Outpatient department. 
  • participate in structured professional supervision tailored to their level of experience, skill and leaning needs
  • have access to a generous AHP CPD fund

The role:

Provide professional assessment and treatments to patients, including children (0-4 years of age) with communication and swallowing disorders within the hospital inpatient, outpatients and community services.

Details of Appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as able until 30/6/2025

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $71,441 - $107,878 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia

  2. Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia

Or where regulatory requirements exist NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements

  1. Full member of Speech Pathology Australia
  2. Current Working with Children Registration

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
