Job description:

Adult Mental Health Services North (AMHSN) is looking for a positive, vibrant and grounded Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead for our Perinatal Mental Health Service North/North West.

***This is dual classified position with Allied Health Professional - Clinical Lead (529971). Only 1 position will be filled.***

Adult Mental Health Services North (AMHSN) is looking for a positive, vibrant and grounded Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead for our Perinatal Mental Health Service North/North West. The Clinical Lead will play a key role in developing and promoting positive work culture in our Perinatal services and liaising with key stakeholders including Child Health and Parenting Service to maximise support for perinatal consumers. We are looking for a leader with:

The role:

  • The Clinical Nurse Consultant -Clinical Lead position is a key leadership role within Mental Health Services North and North West.  The position will provide high level support to the Allied Health Director and regional Team Leaders in the provision of evidence based perinatal mental health services in both the north and north west regions.

  • In accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Services Principles, National Metal Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and other relevant professional competencies, the position will contribute to the clinical and operational management of Perinatal MHS across the north and north west.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $111,506  - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll also have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.

  • 1.1 A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in mental health or relevant field
  • Experience and/or interest in working with people experiencing perinatal mental health disorders or other mental health conditions.
  • Experience in clinical and professional supervision
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
